Wildcrafting and Connection

Very often I head out to harvest or forage and though my heart is full my rucksack remains empty. On the occasions I do return with a bountiful harvest I am filled with such a sense of bliss.  Sticky sweet fingers drenched in the juice of wild berries and my senses saturated from the nibbling, tasting, sniffing and touching as I wander the places I am most at ease.  A pack filled to the brim without any indication that the wild plants have been harvested, humbled by the abundance and generosity of the natural world.

The Courage to Slow Down

My life was changed with a foot massage.  Truly, this simple act opened the possibility of self-compassion and healing within my heart.  A moment I dedicated each day to practicing stillness and loving kindness towards myself.  All with the hopes of healing. A Meditation on Fungi

Otherwise Titled:  Why I eat mushrooms and love mushroom medicine With spring moving into summer and the longer days I find myself filled with creative energy as well as a restlessness.  While my first inclination is to reach towards more stimulating herbs and caffeinated beverages to continue in this energetic flurry, I know from experience that path will only lead me to exhaustion and burn out.  This is where my sense must preside over my desires and my self-care routine shifts to include deeply nourishing and grounding herbs, especially mushrooms. Restorative herbs and tonics are in continual use but I like to change which herbs I’m using to align with my current emotional/physical state as well as environmental factors.  This...
